🚨 WEST ORANGE POLICE INVESTIGATE ATTEMPTED HOME BURGLARY AND VEHICLE BURGLARY 🚔

📍 WEST ORANGE, NJ — Police are investigating two separate burglary-related incidents reported in West Orange on consecutive days last week, including an attempted home break-in and a vehicle burglary.

According to the West Orange Police Department, the first incident occurred on August 25 on Chestnut Street.

Officers responded after a resident reported hearing loud banging coming from the front of their home at approximately 4:50 a.m. Investigators determined that suspects had attempted to force their way through the home's front door but were unsuccessful.

🏠 No entry was made into the residence, according to police. The investigation remains ongoing.

The following day, August 26, police responded to Devonshire Terrace after a resident reported that their Audi had been burglarized while parked in their driveway.

📹 Surveillance footage reportedly captured a silver or gray Porsche SUV traveling along Devonshire Terrace before stopping in front of the victim's residence.

Police said a male wearing dark-colored clothing exited the SUV and entered the victim's vehicle, removing approximately $250 worth of property.

The suspect then returned to the Porsche SUV, which was last seen traveling southbound on Devonshire Terrace, authorities said.

🔎 West Orange police are continuing to investigate both incidents.

🚨 Residents are reminded to lock their homes and vehicles, remove valuables from unattended vehicles, and report suspicious activity to police. Security cameras and exterior lighting can also help investigators identify suspects and vehicles involved in criminal activity.
