๐๐ฅ VACANT WEST MILFORD HOME DESTROYED BY EARLY-MORNING FIRE ๐ฅ๐

A vacant home on Rock Road in West Milford was destroyed after a major fire caused the structure to collapse early Thursday morning. No injuries were reported, and the Fire Marshalโs Office is currently investigating the cause.
๐ WEST MILFORD, NJ โ Firefighters battled a fully involved structure fire early Thursday morning after being dispatched to a home on Rock Road.
The West Milford Fire Department was called to the scene at approximately 6:00 a.m. on August 6, 2026, following reports that a residential structure was actively burning.
๐จ First-arriving firefighters discovered the residential structure had collapsed and was still actively burning. The fire appeared to have been burning for an unknown amount of time before crews were dispatched. Neighbors told firefighters the residence was believed to be vacant.
๐ฅ Engine 1 deployed an attack line and began fire suppression operations. Engine 4 and Tanker 1 arrived shortly afterward and deployed a second attack line.
๐ง Due to the location of the fire, crews established a tanker shuttle operation and had to relay pump approximately 500 feet to supply water to the firefighting operation.
๐ An engine from Bloomingdale was also requested to establish a draft site on Weaver Road, allowing tankers to be filled with water.
Firefighters successfully extinguished all visible flames before beginning extensive overhaul operations.
๐ The West Milford Fire Marshalโs Office responded and began an investigation into the cause and origin of the fire.
โก Orange & Rockland was also requested to the scene to secure electrical service to the structure.
๐ฉบ The West Milford First Aid Squad provided rehabilitation support for firefighters operating at the scene.
Units began clearing the area at approximately 9:00 a.m.
