A Union County Sheriffâs Officer faces charges of official misconduct and vehicle title fraud following a grand jury indictment. Authorities allege that 46-year-old Christopher R. Wolf of Budd Lake broke the law while serving as a sworn officer.
UNION COUNTY, NJ â A Union County Sheriffâs Officer has been indicted on multiple charges following an investigation into alleged official misconduct and fraudulent vehicle title filings, authorities announced.
The Union County Prosecutorâs Office said a Union County Grand Jury returned a five-count indictment on August 6, 2026, against Union County Sheriffâs Officer Christopher R. Wolf, 46, of Budd Lake.
According to prosecutors, the indictment follows an investigation conducted by the Union County Prosecutorâs Office Special Prosecution Unit, working in coordination with local police departments.
The investigation was led by Union County Assistant Prosecutor Aran McNerney and Detective Edward Henderson.
Union County Prosecutor William A. Daniel emphasized the importance of maintaining public confidence in the criminal justice system.
âThe integrity of our entire criminal justice system relies on the publicâs confidence that those sworn to enforce our laws abide by them with complete honesty,â Daniel said. âWhen that trust is breached, our office has an unwavering obligation to uphold the rule of law.â
The specific allegations involve official misconduct and fraudulent vehicle title filings.
