🚨🏍️ TWO CRITICALLY INJURED IN SERIOUS MOTORCYCLE CRASH IN BLACKWOOD 🏍️🚨
A motorcycle driver and passenger were critically injured after their bike struck a car on Route 168 in Gloucester Township Saturday morning. Police say the pair were thrown from the motorcycle during the collision, and an investigation into the crash remains ongoing.
📍 BLACKWOOD, NJ — Two people are hospitalized in critical but stable condition following a serious motorcycle crash Saturday morning on the Black Horse Pike in Gloucester Township.
The Gloucester Township Police Department said officers were dispatched at approximately 10:37 a.m. on August 8 to the intersection of Black Horse Pike (Route 168) and Garden Avenue for a reported crash involving a motorcycle and a passenger vehicle.
🚑 Preliminary information indicated that the motorcycle's operator and passenger were ejected during the collision. First responders found both individuals suffering from serious injuries in the roadway.
The victims were treated by Virtua Paramedics and Inspira EMS before being transported by ambulance to Cooper Trauma Center in Camden.
🚗 The driver of the second vehicle was not injured and remained at the scene to cooperate with investigators.
🔎 Police said their preliminary investigation determined that the motorcycle was stopped on Garden Avenue while waiting to turn left onto the southbound Black Horse Pike. As the motorcycle began making the turn, it struck the front passenger side of a sedan traveling northbound on the Black Horse Pike.
The roadway was closed for approximately three hours while Gloucester Township Police Traffic Safety Unit officers and the Serious Crash Investigation Team conducted their preliminary investigation.
Investigators said that, at this time, speed and distracted driving do not appear to have been contributing factors, although the investigation remains ongoing.
🚔 The identities of those involved are being withheld pending notification of next of kin.
