🚨 TWO CHILDREN FOUND INSIDE EXTREMELY HOT VEHICLE AT SECAUCUS WALMART; FATHER CHARGED

A 48-year-old man faces child endangerment charges after leaving his two young sons inside a locked car at a Secaucus Walmart. Police say temperatures inside the vehicle reached up to 154 degrees while the father was inside the store.
📍 SECAUCUS, NJ — A 48-year-old man is facing a child endangerment charge after police say his two young sons were left unattended inside a locked vehicle at a Walmart parking lot during Friday’s dangerous heat.
Secaucus Police responded to the Walmart parking lot around 12:37 p.m. after witnesses called 911 to report two children, ages 9 and 6, inside an unattended vehicle and appearing to be in distress from the heat. 🚔
According to police, the children had been left inside the vehicle for approximately 13 minutes. The vehicle was reportedly not running, with the windows closed.
When officers arrived, temperatures inside the vehicle were estimated to range between an alarming 129°F and 154°F, while outdoor temperatures had reached approximately 93°F. 🥵☀️
Police said the children’s mother was at the scene and tending to the boys when officers arrived. Investigators determined she had entered Walmart to use the store’s Wi-Fi and had initially left the children with their father. Police said the father later entered the store, leaving the children alone inside the vehicle.
The boys were offered evaluation by local EMS personnel. Police did not have information on whether the children accepted the evaluation.
The father, who police identified as a 48-year-old French citizen, was arrested and charged with Endangering the Welfare of a Child. His name was not released to protect the identities of his children.
He was released on a summons and is scheduled to appear in Secaucus Municipal Court.
