🚨🏨 TWO CHARGED FOLLOWING ALLEGED ASSAULT AT FAIRFIELD HOTEL 🚨

📍 FAIRFIELD, NJ — Two people are facing multiple charges following an investigation into an alleged assault at the Ramada by Wyndham in Fairfield earlier this year.

The Fairfield Police Department said officers responded to the hotel at approximately 8:57 a.m. on April 13, 2026, after receiving a report of an assault.

According to police, officers met with a male victim who said he had been involved in a verbal dispute with other hotel guests after complaining about noise in a hallway.

Investigators allege the confrontation escalated when 34-year-old Adriane Santana approached the victim near his hotel room, entered the room and placed him in a chokehold.

The victim reportedly suffered multiple injuries and was transported to Chilton Medical Center for further evaluation.

🔎 Detective Nicholas Cocchi investigated the incident, reviewing hotel surveillance footage, video recorded on the victim's cellphone, photographs documenting the injuries and related medical records.

Police said the investigation also determined that 29-year-old Yilari Quiros-Valverde allegedly entered the victim's room during the confrontation, took his cellphone and attempted to delete video footage of the incident.

Investigators said the video was later recovered from the phone's deleted-items folder.

On September 1, 2026, Santana was charged with:

Quiros-Valverde was charged with:

🔴 Burglary 🔴 Theft by Unlawful Taking 🔴 Tampering With Physical Evidence

Police said both defendants were charged on complaint warrants and entered as wanted persons.
