š Two Arrests Stem From Separate Investigations During Wawa Visit in Browns Mills

Lakewood police arrested two men during a single visit to a Browns Mills Wawa while investigating a stolen credit card. One man faces fraud charges, while the other was taken into custody for unrelated shoplifting incidents and an active warrant.
BROWNS MILLS, NJ ā August 22, 2026 ā A routine investigative trip to a Wawa in Pemberton Township led to two arrests involving two separate and unrelated cases, according to police.
On August 18, Lakewood Police Detective Robert Meyer Jr. and Patrolman Anthony Amoroso traveled to the Wawa on Juliustown Road in Browns Mills while investigating the alleged fraudulent use of a credit card that had reportedly been stolen during a vehicle burglary in Lakewood.
During the investigation, officers located Raymond L. Lawson, 59, of West Creek, who was arrested and charged with fraudulent use of a credit card.
Lawson was released on a criminal complaint summons and is scheduled to appear in court at a later date.
While conducting the investigation, Detective Meyer also recognized Alexander Lowery, 59, of Lakewood.
Police said Lowery was wanted in connection with an unrelated series of shoplifting incidents in Lakewood and also had an active arrest warrant.
Lowery was taken into custody and later transported to the Ocean County Jail.
The Lakewood Police Department credited the Pemberton Township Police Department with assisting officers during both arrests.
šØ Police Reminder: The two arrests stemmed from separate investigations and were not related to one another.
āļø All charges are allegations. Both defendants are presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law.
