🚨 TRAFFIC STOP IN WILDWOOD LEADS TO MAJOR GUN BUST, POLICE SAY 🚨
Wildwood police arrested three Pennsylvania residents during a traffic stop after finding two loaded handguns, including one modified for fully automatic fire. The suspects face multiple weapons charges after officers also recovered a stolen firearm, high-capacity magazines, and hollow-point ammunition.
📍 WILDWOOD, NJ — A traffic stop in Wildwood over the holiday weekend reportedly turned into a major weapons investigation after officers say they discovered two loaded handguns, ammunition and a device capable of converting a firearm to fully automatic operation.
According to the Wildwood Police Department, officers stopped a maroon Chrysler Saturday on Rio Grande Avenue after observing several motor vehicle violations. Police also say the vehicle's Pennsylvania license plate had been partially covered with black tape.
The driver was identified as Donald R. Jones, 18, of Downingtown, Pennsylvania. Two passengers were also inside the vehicle: Maurice L. Bullock Jr., 21, of Exton, Pennsylvania, and a 17-year-old juvenile from Pennsylvania.
During the traffic stop, officers reportedly observed a handgun inside a crossbody bag that Bullock had removed from the vehicle.
Police say the firearm was a loaded .45-caliber Glock 21 equipped with a device commonly referred to as a “switch,” which can allow a firearm to operate in a fully automatic manner. Officers also reportedly recovered a 30-round magazine and hollow-point ammunition.
A subsequent search of the vehicle allegedly uncovered a second loaded handgun, a Taurus 9mm, inside another bag located in the front passenger area. Police say the weapon was equipped with a large-capacity magazine and additional ammunition.
Authorities later determined that the Taurus had reportedly been reported stolen.
All three occupants were taken into custody and are facing multiple weapons-related charges, according to police. The 17-year-old is additionally facing a charge related to unlawful possession of a firearm by a minor.
