🚔 TOMS RIVER POLICE HIGHLIGHT JULY INVESTIGATIONS, DRUG SEIZURES AND MAJOR ARRESTS
Toms River Police Department detectives conducted several major investigations in July, leading to the seizure of two kilograms of cocaine and $200,000. Officers also arrested suspects for child exploitation and the theft of over $33,000 in sunglasses from a local business.

The Toms River Police Department is highlighting several investigations conducted by members of its Detective Bureau during the month of July, including major narcotics seizures, a child exploitation investigation and the arrest of suspects accused of stealing thousands of dollars in merchandise.
According to the Toms River PBA Local 137, the cases represent only a portion of the work conducted by the department’s detectives and Special Enforcement Team.
💰 $200,000 AND 2 KILOS OF COCAINE SEIZED
Detective Berke was credited with an investigation that resulted in the seizure of approximately $200,000 in cash and two kilograms of cocaine.
Police said the TRPD Special Enforcement Team had conducted a several-month investigation into alleged narcotics distribution in the Toms River area.
A suspect was stopped at a 7 Brew Coffee location in Toms River while members of the Ocean County Regional SWAT Team simultaneously executed a search warrant at the suspect’s residence in Berkeley Township.
The suspect was charged with possession with intent to distribute narcotics, possession of crack cocaine, possession of Suboxone and possession of drug paraphernalia.
🚨 K-9 ASSISTS NARCOTICS INVESTIGATION
In another investigation, detectives conducting surveillance near the Route 70 Wawa allegedly observed individuals meeting another suspect in what police believed was a narcotics transaction.
Investigators continued surveillance and said the suspects later shoplifted from a nearby Walgreens.
A vehicle stop was conducted near Schley and Arthur streets, and K-9 Officer Carafa and K-9 Ranger responded to conduct a narcotics detection sniff.
Police said K-9 Ranger indicated the presence of controlled dangerous substances, leading to the recovery of suspected crack cocaine and drug paraphernalia.
The suspects were subsequently charged and released on summonses.
🚨 CHILD EXPLOITATION INVESTIGATION
Detective Robertazzi investigated a case involving the alleged distribution and possession of child sexual abuse material.
Police said the investigation resulted in the arrest of a male suspect, who was charged with second-degree distribution of child pornography and third-degree possession of child pornography.
🕶️ $33,000+ IN SUNGLASSES STOLEN
Detective Quinn also investigated an alleged shoplifting ring accused of stealing approximately $33,043 worth of sunglasses from Sunglass Hut.
The investigation resulted in three men being arrested and charged.

The Toms River PBA said the cases represent only a small sampling of the investigations handled by the department’s Detective Bureau.
