A driver suffered minor injuries Friday after crashing his Tesla through a garage and into a South Brunswick kitchen following a medical episode. The collision caused a gas leak that led to brief neighborhood evacuations while emergency crews secured the scene.
SOUTH BRUNSWICK, NJ ā August 16, 2026 ā A 68-year-old Plainsboro man suffered minor injuries Friday after the Tesla he was driving crashed through a garage and into the kitchen of a home on Pheasant Run, according to South Brunswick Township Police.
Police, EMS, and firefighters from the Monmouth Junction and Kingston fire departments responded to the residence around 11:01 a.m.
According to police, the driver appeared to have experienced a medical condition prior to the crash, causing the vehicle to leave the roadway and strike the residence.
The collision caused a small gas leak, prompting nearby homes to be briefly evacuated as a precaution while emergency crews secured the scene. šØš
The driver was treated for minor injuries.
Township code inspectors will determine when it is safe for the residents to reoccupy the affected home.
The circumstances surrounding the crash remain under investigation. š
