The 16th annual STOP For Nikhil event returns to West Orange High School this Sunday to honor the memory of Nikhil Badlani. The fundraiser includes a bike ride, run, and walk to promote traffic safety and support educational programs.
A West Orange community tradition honoring the life of a young New Jersey traffic crash victim will return this weekend as the 16th annual STOP For Nikhil Run/Walk/Bike Ride takes place Sunday, September 20.
The family-friendly event will be held at West Orange High School, 51 Conforti Avenue, bringing together runners, walkers, cyclists, families, students and traffic safety advocates.
The event was created in memory of 11-year-old Nikhil Badlani, who was killed in 2011 when a driver ran a stop sign. His family established the Nikhil Badlani Foundation to continue his legacy through traffic-safety education, youth involvement and advocacy.
