A New Jersey State Police trooper and two other people, including a child, were injured Saturday morning in a crash on the New Jersey Turnpike. The accident occurred in Mansfield Township when a car struck a disabled vehicle and a parked police SUV.
MANSFIELD, NJ — August 24, 2026 — A New Jersey State Police trooper and two other people were injured following an early-morning crash on the New Jersey Turnpike in Mansfield Township, authorities said.
The crash occurred at approximately 12:45 a.m. Saturday near mile marker 50.6.
According to preliminary information from New Jersey State Police, a Jeep had broken down along the highway. An unmarked Ford Explorer troop vehicle was parked behind the disabled Jeep with its emergency lights activated.
Authorities said a Honda then struck the Jeep, resulting in injuries to three people, including the State Police trooper. A child involved in the crash was transported to a hospital for treatment.
The circumstances surrounding the collision remain under investigation. The extent of the injuries was not immediately released.
