⛈️🚨 SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WARNING — OCEAN & BURLINGTON COUNTIES
A Severe Thunderstorm Warning is in effect for parts of Ocean and Burlington counties as a storm moves through the region. Residents should expect 60 mph wind gusts and quarter-size hail, which could damage trees, power lines, and vehicles.
A Severe Thunderstorm Warning is in effect tonight for portions of southeastern Ocean County and east-central Burlington County as a strong thunderstorm moves southeast through the region.
As of approximately 9:04 PM, the storm was located near Warren Grove, about 20 miles southwest of Toms River, and was moving southeast at 20 MPH.
🌬️ 60 MPH wind gusts are being reported with the storm, capable of downing trees and power lines and causing damage to roofs and siding.
🧊 Quarter-size hail is also possible, which could cause minor damage to vehicles and other property.
📍 Communities in the storm’s path include:
• Barnegat • Tuckerton • Surf City • Manahawkin • Beach Haven West
🚗 Motorists should use extreme caution along the Garden State Parkway between mile markers 54 and 72 as the storm moves through the area.

Residents and motorists in the warned area should seek shelter indoors now. Stay away from windows and avoid open areas, trees and exposed locations.
⚡ If you hear thunder, lightning is close enough to strike. Do not wait for lightning to become visible before taking shelter.
