š„ SECOND-ALARM HOUSE FIRE DISPLACES TWO FAMILIES IN SOUTH BOUND BROOK š
A second-alarm fire at a South Bound Brook home displaced two families on Friday morning. No injuries were reported, and the American Red Cross is providing emergency assistance while local officials investigate the cause of the blaze.
š SOUTH BOUND BROOK, NJ ā Two families have been displaced following a second-alarm residential fire Friday morning in Somerset County.
The South Bound Brook and Bound Brook Fire Departments were dispatched shortly before 8:10 a.m. to 120 Howard Ave. for a reported structure fire.
š South Bound Brook police officers arrived and found a working fire involving the second floor of the residential building.
Fortunately, everyone was able to safely evacuate the home, and no injuries were reported.
š A second alarm was requested, bringing additional firefighters and resources from surrounding communities to assist with the response.
Firefighters were able to bring the blaze under control in just under 45 minutes, according to the South Bound Brook Fire Department.
ā¤ļøāš©¹ The American Red Cross of New Jersey assisted three people from two families with emergency needs, including temporary lodging, food, clothing and other immediate assistance. Red Cross Disaster Health and Disaster Mental Health Services were also made available.
š The cause of the fire remains under investigation by the South Bound Brook Borough Bureau of Fire Prevention.
