Investigators began looking into the alleged operation in September 2024 after receiving information that cocaine was being sold from the two fraternity houses. According to prosecutors, undercover officers subsequently made multiple cocaine purchases during the investigation.
Authorities allege that cocaine was obtained in large quantities, then cut, packaged and distributed primarily to Penn State students. Prosecutors say the organization eventually developed into a significant trafficking operation.
Hurabi allegedly told investigators that he began selling cocaine after joining Delta Upsilon as a freshman in 2022. According to the criminal complaint, he later partnered with fellow fraternity member Thomas Robinson and purchased larger quantities from Agostino Abbatiello, who prosecutors identify as one of the organizationās primary suppliers.
Investigators allege that purchases eventually reached hundreds of grams at a time. Prosecutors say the operation expanded beyond the original fraternity houses and involved additional students in packaging and distribution.
According to the Attorney Generalās Office, Abbatiello and Robinson were identified as the main suppliers, while Hurabi and Lars Zeepvat are among those facing felony charges tied to the alleged organization. Eight additional student-aged defendants face misdemeanor possession and drug-paraphernalia charges. (Attorney Generalā ļæ¼)
Authorities also charged Paul Robinson, Thomas Robinsonās father, with felony offenses related to allegedly concealing evidence and hindering the investigation.
The Pennsylvania Attorney Generalās Office said investigators believe the organization was responsible for moving more than 3.5 kilograms of cocaine into the fraternity houses. Prosecutors described the alleged operation as a coordinated and profitable trafficking organization.
āļø Allegations, Not Convictions
Hurabi is currently facing criminal charges and is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in court.
Following the arrests, Abbatiello surrendered to authorities after initially failing to appear for his scheduled arraignment. A judge subsequently denied him bail. (Attorney Generalā ļæ¼)
