🚔 POLICE PURSUIT FOLLOWS JEWELRY STORE THEFT IN WEST ORANGE
West Orange police are searching for two men who fled a jewelry store theft in a blue BMW on September 18. Officers chased the suspects into Montclair before ending the pursuit, and the investigation into the Eagle Rock Avenue incident remains ongoing.
WEST ORANGE, NJ — Police are investigating a theft at a West Orange jewelry store that led to a pursuit involving a vehicle believed to be connected to the suspects.
According to the West Orange Police Department, officers responded to Walter Bauman Jewelers on Eagle Rock Avenue on September 18 after receiving a report of a theft that had just occurred.
When officers arrived, they encountered two men who reportedly matched descriptions provided in connection with the theft. Police said the men entered a blue BMW X3 with New York license plates and fled the area.
Officers followed the vehicle into Montclair, where the pursuit was eventually terminated, according to authorities.
Police described both suspects as being approximately 20 to 25 years old.
One suspect was described as having afro-style hair and a goatee and wearing dark clothing. The second suspect was reportedly wearing a gray hooded sweatshirt.
The investigation remains ongoing. Anyone with information that could assist investigators in identifying the suspects is urged to contact the West Orange Police Department.
