New Jersey State Police are seeking a man who allegedly stole a 40-foot sailboat from Liberty Harbor Marina in Jersey City. The suspect was seen on surveillance video wearing various outfits, including a black hooded sweatshirt and a blue hat.
JERSEY CITY, N.J. — The New Jersey State Police are asking the public for assistance in identifying a man wanted for questioning in connection with the theft of a sailboat from a Jersey City marina.
According to State Police, troopers from the Marine Services Bureau – Carteret Station responded at approximately 11:00 p.m. on August 22 to a report of a stolen vessel at Liberty Harbor Marina.
The vessel is identified as a 1968 Hinckley Bermuda, a 40-foot sailboat bearing sail number 4066. ⛵
📹 Investigators say the suspect was captured on surveillance video.
The man is described as a white male who was initially wearing:
🧢 Black hat 🖤 Black hooded sweatshirt 🩳 Black shorts
Authorities say the suspect may have changed his clothing during the theft and may have later been wearing a blue hat and tan hooded sweatshirt.
