🚨 PATERSON FIREFIGHTERS RESCUE 20 PEOPLE DURING FLASH FLOODING EVENT 🌊🚒
Paterson firefighters rescued 20 people, including a wheelchair-bound resident, during severe flash flooding yesterday. Emergency responders safely transported the rescued individuals to the hospital while officials warned residents to avoid driving or walking through dangerous floodwaters.
During yesterday afternoon’s severe flash flooding, Paterson firefighters rescued approximately 20 individuals who became trapped as rapidly rising floodwaters impacted the area. Among those rescued was a 62-year-old wheelchair-bound resident who was stranded in dangerous moving water. Members of Rescue Company 2 entered the flooded area, safely removed the resident from the water, and transferred her to Paterson EMS for care and transport to St. Joseph’s University Medical Center. 👏 We commend the bravery, quick response, and professionalism of Paterson’s firefighters and emergency responders who worked to protect residents during dangerous conditions. ⚠️ Flash Flood Safety Reminder: Never drive or walk through flooded roadways.
