🚔⚖️ OAKLAND, NJ: MAN CHARGED IN ALLEGED SEXUAL ASSAULT OF CHILD UNDER 13
Bergen County authorities arrested 39-year-old Victor G. Sayas on Wednesday for the alleged sexual assault of a child under the age of 13. The Oakland man faces several charges, including first-degree aggravated sexual assault, and is currently held in the county jail.
A 39-year-old Oakland man has been arrested and charged following an investigation into the alleged sexual assault of a girl under the age of 13, according to the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office.
Authorities identified the defendant as Victor G. Sayas, who was arrested Wednesday in Oakland following an investigation involving the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office and Oakland Police Department.
🔎 According to investigators, Oakland police contacted the prosecutor’s office Special Victims Unit on Monday after receiving a report concerning an alleged sexual assault. Investigators subsequently alleged that Sayas sexually assaulted the child in Oakland.
Sayas faces the following charges:
⚖️ First-degree aggravated sexual assault ⚖️ Second-degree sexual assault ⚖️ Third-degree endangering the welfare of a child
Following his arrest, Sayas was lodged in the Bergen County Jail pending an appearance in Bergen County Superior Court in Hackensack.
Bergen County Prosecutor Mark Musella credited the Oakland Police Department and Bergen County Sheriff’s Office for their assistance with the investigation.
