The Essex County Prosecutor’s Office is investigating Dave Cordoba, owner of a Fairfield wrestling facility, following allegations of sexual misconduct. The coach is currently under a temporary suspension and no-contact directive while authorities look into the matter.
📍 ESSEX/MORRIS COUNTIES, NJ — A prominent New Jersey girls wrestling coach is facing an investigation following allegations of sexual misconduct, authorities confirmed.
The Essex County Prosecutor’s Office confirmed that an investigation has been opened involving Dave Cordoba, 44, who operates Cordoba Trained Wrestling, a training facility on Route 46 in Fairfield.
Cordoba is a former New Jersey state champion wrestler and has more than two decades of coaching experience. His facility has worked with wrestlers ranging from elementary school athletes to state and national champions.
According to the U.S. Center for SafeSport’s Centralized Disciplinary Database, Cordoba is currently listed as being on temporary suspension with a no-contact directive.
