🚔⚖️ NEWARK WOMAN TAKEN INTO CUSTODY ON SECaucus SHOPLIFTING WARRANTS ⚖️🚔
Police arrested a 38-year-old Newark woman for two separate shoplifting incidents at T.J. Maxx and Marshalls in Secaucus. She faces charges of shoplifting and conspiracy and was transported to the Hudson County Jail following a custody transfer from the Essex County Sheriff’s Office.
📍 SECAUCUS, NJ — A 38-year-old Newark woman was taken into custody in connection with outstanding shoplifting-related charges stemming from incidents at two businesses in Secaucus, according to police.
On September 3, 2026, officers from the Essex County Sheriff’s Office responded to Secaucus Police Headquarters to transfer custody of Iman Barnes, 38, of Newark.
Barnes had an outstanding warrant issued out of Secaucus related to a reported August 19, 2026 shoplifting incident at T.J. Maxx, located at 3 Millcreek Drive.
She was charged with Shoplifting, under N.J.S.A. 2C:20-11B(1), and Conspiracy to Commit Shoplifting, under N.J.S.A. 2C:5-2A(1).
🚨 Police also determined that Barnes was allegedly involved in another shoplifting incident at Marshalls, located at 400 Millcreek Drive, on August 15, 2025.
She was additionally issued a complaint summons in connection with that incident for Shoplifting and Conspiracy to Commit Shoplifting.
Following the custody transfer, Barnes was issued the warrant and summonses and was taken to the Hudson County Jail.
⚖️ The charges are accusations, and Barnes is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law.
