Newark police are searching for a suspect who stole a wallet from an unlocked car on 16th Avenue last week. Surveillance footage shows the individual fleeing the scene on a bicycle, and authorities are offering a reward for information.
NEWARK, NJ — Newark police are asking for the public’s assistance in identifying a person accused of entering an unlocked vehicle and taking personal belongings earlier this month.
According to Newark Public Safety Director Emanuel Miranda Sr., the incident happened on Thursday, September 3, 2026, in the 100 block of 16th Avenue.
🎥 Surveillance footage reportedly captured the suspect entering the victim’s vehicle at approximately 11:17 p.m. Police say the individual took a wallet containing cash and bank cards before leaving the area on a bicycle, traveling east on 16th Avenue.
