The Bergen County Prosecutorβs Office has announced multiple arrests in connection with the July 19, 2026 double homicide in North Arlington that claimed the lives of two men. According to investigators, the shooting occurred during an altercation near the intersection of Ridge Road and Belleville Turnpike/Kearny Avenue. The two victims, both suffering from gunshot wounds, were transported to University Hospital in Newark, where they were later pronounced dead. Authorities allege the investigation identified one suspect as the shooter, while several others were involved in the incident and fled the scene without notifying law enforcement or assisting the injured victims. Two young children were also allegedly in one of the fleeing vehicles without proper child restraints. Four individuals have now been charged with offenses ranging from murder and weapons violations to endangering an injured victim and child endangerment. One of the murder suspects was recently taken into custody in Newark, while authorities continue efforts related to the remaining outstanding case developments. The investigation remains ongoing.
