šØšļø Motorcyclist Airlifted After I-80 Crash In Warren County
A 58-year-old motorcyclist suffered serious injuries after being thrown from his Harley-Davidson on Interstate 80 in Hope Township Wednesday morning. Christopher Beckans was airlifted to a hospital after losing control during a lane change, according to the New Jersey State Police.
HOPE TOWNSHIP, NJ ā A motorcycle crash on Interstate 80 sent a 58-year-old rider to the hospital by helicopter Wednesday morning after police said he was thrown from his bike.
The crash happened around 10:45 a.m. near milepost 11 on westbound I-80 in Hope Township, according to authorities.
Investigators said Christopher Beckans, 58, was operating a Harley-Davidson motorcycle when he lost control while changing lanes. The motorcycle overturned, ejecting Beckans from the bike.
Beckans suffered serious injuries and was transported by air to a nearby hospital for treatment. According to the Hope Volunteer Fire Department, a medical helicopter landed directly on I-80 to allow emergency crews to transfer the injured motorcyclist.
His condition was not immediately available as of Thursday morning.
The New Jersey State Police are investigating the circumstances surrounding the crash. No additional information was immediately released.
