🚨 MAN KILLED, CUMBERLAND COUNTY SERGEANT IDENTIFIED IN MILLVILLE OFFICER-INVOLVED SHOOTING
Cumberland County Prosecutor’s Office Sergeant John Borelli fatally shot 47-year-old Shaun Murphy during a domestic disturbance call in Millville on Thursday. Authorities recovered a handgun at the scene, and the New Jersey Attorney General’s Office is investigating the shooting.
📍 MILLVILLE, NJ — A 47-year-old Millville man was fatally shot by a Cumberland County Prosecutor’s Office sergeant Thursday morning during an encounter inside a home on Hazel Boulevard, according to the New Jersey Attorney General’s Office.
Authorities said officers responded to the 300 block of Hazel Boulevard for a reported domestic disturbance. A standoff reportedly began around 8 a.m., with investigators remaining at the scene for much of the day.
During the incident, Cumberland County Prosecutor’s Office Sergeant John Borelli fired his weapon during an encounter with Shaun Murphy, 47, of Millville.
Murphy was later pronounced dead. Officials said a handgun was recovered at the scene. 🔫
