Police are investigating after a resident found human remains in the woods near Tilton Road on July 30. Officers and New Jersey State Police dogs located additional remains, and authorities are now working to identify the individual and their cause of death.
EGG HARBOR TOWNSHIP, NJ ā Authorities are investigating after human remains were discovered in a wooded area of Egg Harbor Township late last month.
According to the Egg Harbor Township Police Department, a local resident discovered a portion of human remains during the early morning hours of July 30 near the intersection of Tilton Road and Delilah Road.
š®āāļø Police responded and launched a search of the surrounding wooded area. With assistance from a New Jersey State Police cadaver K-9 unit, additional remains were located.
Investigators are now working to determine the identity of the deceased individual as well as the cause and circumstances of death.
š The investigation remains active, and authorities have not released additional information regarding the identity of the person or how the remains came to be in the area.
šØ PUBLIC SAFETY: Authorities said there is no apparent threat to the public associated with this incident.
