🚨 FUGITIVE ACCUSED OF SEXUALLY ASSAULTING 5-YEAR-OLD EXTRADITED FROM MEXICO TO NJ
Federal agents extradited Adrian Bautista from Mexico to New Jersey on Friday to face charges for a 2013 sexual assault involving a 5-year-old girl. Authorities arrested the fugitive in Mexico City last month following a decade on the run.
NEW JERSEY — A man accused of sexually assaulting a 5-year-old girl in New Jersey more than a decade ago has been extradited from Mexico to the United States to face charges, according to the FBI.
FBI Newark agents escorted Adrian Bautista from Mexico to New Jersey on Friday following his extradition.
According to federal authorities, the Morris County Prosecutor’s Office charged Bautista in 2013 with aggravated sexual assault involving a 5-year-old girl.
Authorities said Bautista subsequently fled New Jersey, eventually traveling to New York and later Mexico.
🇲🇽 ARRESTED IN MEXICO
Mexican authorities arrested Bautista in Mexico City on October 31, 2025, following a U.S. extradition request. The FBI said Mexican authorities, working with INTERPOL, took Bautista into custody without incident.
After the extradition process was completed, FBI Newark agents returned Bautista to the United States to face the outstanding New Jersey charges.
✈️ PROJECT WELCOME HOME
The FBI said Bautista’s return was funded through the federal government’s Project Welcome Home, a program designed to assist state and local law enforcement agencies in bringing fugitives back to the United States to face criminal charges.
The allegations date back more than 10 years, and Bautista remains accused unless and until proven guilty in court.
