A Flood Watch is in effect for most of New Jersey until 4:00 AM Friday. Heavy rain and thunderstorms could cause flash flooding in low-lying areas, and residents are urged to avoid driving through flooded roads.
ā ļø A Flood Watch has been issued for the following areas and remains in effect until Friday at 4:00 AM:
š Eastern Monmouth š Western Monmouth š Ocean š Atlantic š Coastal Atlantic š Coastal Ocean š Southeastern Burlington š Northwestern Burlington š Sussex š Warren š Morris š Hunterdon š Somerset š Middlesex š Mercer š Gloucester š Camden
š§ļø WHAT THIS MEANS: Conditions are favorable for flooding, particularly if periods of heavy rain and thunderstorms continue. Localized flash flooding may occur in areas with poor drainage, low-lying locations and along streams and waterways.
š USE EXTREME CAUTION: Never drive through a flooded roadway. Turn around and find an alternate route.
š Residents in the watch area should monitor weather conditions closely, keep weather alerts enabled and be prepared to move to higher ground if flooding develops.
