Authorities are following new leads in the search for Dulce Maria Alavez, who vanished from Bridgeton City Park in 2019. Investigators are urging the public to share any information and note that witness immigration status will not be used against them.
BRIDGETON, NJ — Authorities are renewing their appeal for information in the long-running search for Dulce Maria Alavez, who disappeared from Bridgeton City Park in September 2019 when she was just 5 years old.
Dulce was last seen at the park on September 16, 2019. Investigators have previously said they believed a man may have led the child away from the park toward a red van with a sliding side door.
The Cumberland County Prosecutor’s Office continues to investigate the case and says information submitted by the public has produced new leads during the past year. Authorities are continuing to review and follow up on tips as they work to determine what happened to Dulce.
Cumberland County Prosecutor Jennifer Webb-McRae said investigators remain committed to finding those responsible for Dulce’s disappearance and emphasized that every tip is thoroughly reviewed.
