Fairfield police arrested a 26-year-old Garfield woman on Route 46 after a traffic stop led to the discovery of Xanax, LSD, and drug paraphernalia. She faces multiple drug charges and is scheduled to appear in court in September.
FAIRFIELD, NJ ā August 18, 2026 ā A 26-year-old Garfield woman was arrested after a traffic stop on Route 46 allegedly led to the discovery of controlled dangerous substances and drug paraphernalia, according to the Fairfield Police Department.
Police said the incident occurred at approximately 2:00 a.m. on August 14, when Officer Ryan Cleary was patrolling Route 46 and allegedly observed a black SUV traveling eastbound at a high rate of speed.
The officer also allegedly observed that one of the vehicle's brake lights failed to activate. A motor vehicle stop was subsequently conducted on Route 46 East near the Willowbrook Mall.
The driver was identified as Kimberly-Ann Rickenberg, 26, of Garfield.
According to police, further investigation allegedly resulted in officers discovering multiple Xanax pills, paper containing LSD and drug paraphernalia inside the vehicle. ššØ
Rickenberg was arrested and charged with:
š¹ Third-degree possession of a controlled dangerous substance š¹ Possession of drug paraphernalia, a disorderly persons offense
Rickenberg was released on her own recognizance and is scheduled for a mandatory appearance in Essex County Superior Court on September 24, 2026. āļø
