Firefighters extinguished an early morning blaze on Meade Street in Woodbridge on Wednesday. Officials confirmed the home was empty at the time of the fire, and no injuries were reported among residents or emergency responders. The cause remains under investigation.
WOODBRIDGE, NJ ā August 27, 2026 ā Firefighters responded to a house fire early Wednesday morning in the Port Reading section of Woodbridge Township, with additional crews called to the scene as the incident developed.
The fire was reported shortly before 6 a.m. on August 26 at a home on Meade Street. According to officials, fire was coming from the first floor of the residence, prompting additional fire companies to respond for assistance.
Firefighters conducted multiple searches of the home to make sure everyone had been accounted for. Officials said no people or pets were found inside.
š No injuries were reported among civilians or firefighters.
The Woodbridge Fire Prevention Bureau is investigating the incident and working to determine the cause and origin of the fire.
