šØš DRIVER RESCUED AFTER SERIOUS I-287 CRASH IN SOMERSET COUNTY š
A 61-year-old Monroe man was seriously injured Monday morning after losing control of his SUV and crashing into a tractor-trailer on I-287 in Franklin Township. Firefighters extricated the driver, who was the only person injured in the collision.
A driver was rescued from a vehicle and transported to a hospital with serious injuries following a crash involving a tractor-trailer Monday morning on Interstate 287 in Franklin Township, Somerset County. According to New Jersey State Police, troopers responded around 9:34 AM to I-287 North near milepost 12.1 after a Nissan SUV crashed into a tractor-trailer. Investigators say the Nissan was traveling from the Canal Road entrance ramp when the driver lost control, left the roadway, struck a curb, crossed the grassy median, and entered the northbound lanes before colliding with a Kenworth tractor-trailer. The driver of the Nissan, identified as 61-year-old David Soans of Monroe, became trapped inside the vehicle and was extricated by members of the Finderne Fire Department. He was transported to an area hospital with serious injuries. No other injuries were reported.
