A 57-year-old Toms River man died Thursday afternoon after his SUV struck a guardrail and crashed into a tree on the Garden State Parkway. New Jersey State Police are still investigating the cause of the fatal accident near milepost 103.1.

A 57-year-old Toms River man lost his life Thursday afternoon after his SUV left the Garden State Parkway and crashed into a tree, according to New Jersey State Police.
The crash happened around 4:45 p.m. near milepost 103.1 on the southbound side of the Parkway.
Police identified the driver as Mark Edgell, 57, of Toms River. Investigators said Edgell was operating a Nissan SUV when the vehicle struck a guardrail, veered off the roadway to the left and then collided with a tree. ππ₯π³
Edgell sustained fatal injuries in the collision.
