A Cumberland County man convicted of murdering his parents inside their Hopewell Township home has been sentenced to 154 years in New Jersey State Prison.
Craig Williams was previously found guilty of numerous charges connected to the 2023 killings of Brenda Williams and Billy Williams Jr.
🚔 WELFARE CHECK LEADS TO DISCOVERY
The case began on March 13, 2023, when New Jersey State Police responded to the couple’s home for a welfare check after concerned relatives reported they had not heard from them.
According to prosecutors, Williams initially told troopers that his parents were not home.
Investigators later entered the residence and discovered both victims dead inside the home, suffering from multiple stab wounds. The victims were found in separate areas of the residence, including a bedroom and bathroom.
🔎 EVIDENCE DISCARDED
During the trial, prosecutors presented evidence that Williams attempted to dispose of or conceal items investigators believed were connected to the killings.
Those items reportedly included bloody clothing, gloves, shoes, towels, a surveillance camera and the victims’ cellphones.
⚖️ Following his conviction on the numerous charges, Williams was sentenced Friday to a combined 154-year prison term.
The lengthy sentence brings a conclusion to a case that began with a family’s concern for the couple’s well-being and ultimately resulted in a double-homicide investigation.
