Police fatally shot 23-year-old college baseball player Glen Pysher after he reportedly went to the wrong house while looking for a party. Pysher, who was set to play for Saint Elizabeth University in New Jersey, died during the encounter in Pennsylvania.
MONTGOMERY COUNTY, PA. — A 23-year-old Pennsylvania college baseball player who was preparing to continue his career at a New Jersey university was fatally shot by police early Sunday morning after, according to his family, he mistakenly went to the wrong home while trying to attend a house party.
Glen “Bubba” Pysher, a 2023 graduate of Upper Pottsgrove High School, was killed in Montgomery County shortly after police were called to a residence on Snyder Road at approximately 12:30 a.m. following reports of an attempted break-in.
Pysher’s family told 6ABC that he had been celebrating a friend’s birthday at a local bar Saturday night before the group decided to continue the gathering at a nearby home. His family says Pysher mistakenly went to the wrong residence and knocked on the door, prompting the occupants to call police.
According to the Montgomery County District Attorney’s Office, officers responding to the scene encountered a male behind the home.
“An encounter ensued and police fired at the male subject, fatally striking the subject,” prosecutors said.
Authorities have not publicly released additional details about the circumstances leading up to the shooting, including what prompted officers to use deadly force.

Pysher was a standout catcher who had played college baseball at Francis Marion University in South Carolina and Northampton Community College.
He was scheduled to begin playing at Saint Elizabeth University in Morris Township, New Jersey, this month.
Family and friends described Pysher as a talented athlete, scholar and devoted family member whose passion for baseball was a major part of his life.
A GoFundMe campaign established to assist his family had raised more than $20,000 from more than 300 donors as of early Tuesday.
💔 The circumstances surrounding Pysher’s death remain under investigation as authorities work to determine exactly what occurred during the encounter.
