🚨🌧️ CAMDEN MAN KILLED IN PEDESTRIAN CRASH INVOLVING OFF-DUTY POLICE OFFICER 🚔
An off-duty Camden County Police Department officer struck and killed a 19-year-old pedestrian on Admiral Wilson Boulevard early Tuesday morning. The Camden County Prosecutor’s Office is investigating the crash, which occurred while the victim was walking in the roadway.
CAMDEN, NJ — A 19-year-old Camden man was killed early Tuesday morning after being struck by a vehicle on Admiral Wilson Boulevard in Camden, according to the Camden County Prosecutor’s Office.
Authorities say the crash occurred at approximately 12:51 a.m. on September 1, near westbound Admiral Wilson Boulevard and 16th Street. The pedestrian had entered the roadway when he was struck by a vehicle.
The driver remained at the scene and was identified as an off-duty Camden County Police Department officer.
An on-duty Delaware River Port Authority Police Department officer also stopped at the scene and attempted to provide medical assistance.
The pedestrian was identified as 19-year-old Angel Saravia-Estrada of Camden. He was transported to Cooper University Hospital, where he was pronounced deceased at approximately 1:17 a.m.
🔎 The crash remains under investigation by the Camden County Prosecutor’s Office Crash Response Investigation Team. No additional information is being released at this time.
