🕯️ BROTHER AND SISTER DEAD FOLLOWING PENNSAUKEN SHOOTING, AUTHORITIES SAY 🏠
Authorities are investigating a murder-suicide after a brother and sister died following a shooting at a Pennsauken home Wednesday morning. Police say 60-year-old Daniel Lopez shot his sister, Janet Camacho, before turning the gun on himself inside the residence.
📍 PENNSAUKEN, NJ — A brother and sister are dead following a shooting at a Pennsauken home Wednesday morning, according to the Camden County Prosecutor’s Office.
Police responded around 9 a.m. to the 4400 block of Bethel Avenue after receiving a report of a shooting. Officers were advised that a man armed with a handgun was believed to be inside the residence.
Authorities said officers found 59-year-old Janet Camacho of Pennsauken on the front steps suffering from a gunshot wound. She was transported to Cooper University Hospital, where she was pronounced dead at approximately 9:40 a.m.
A perimeter was established around the residence with assistance from the Camden County Sheriff’s Emergency Response Team as officers worked to secure the scene.
At approximately 10:40 a.m., authorities located 60-year-old Daniel Lopez of Pennsauken deceased inside the home. Investigators said Lopez died after shooting himself.
🤖 Aerial footage released by Fox 29 showed a robotic dog being used by law enforcement to enter the residence during the response.
Authorities are investigating the deaths as a murder-suicide.
