šØ Brielle Man Stable After Being Stabbed With Kitchen Knife; Woman Charged

A 21-year-old Glen Gardner woman faces multiple charges after allegedly stabbing a 62-year-old man with a kitchen knife in Brielle on Tuesday morning. The victim is in stable condition at a local hospital, and the investigation remains active.
BRIELLE, NJ ā A 62-year-old Brielle man is recovering after police say he was stabbed with a kitchen knife Tuesday morning at a residence on Rankin Road.
According to the Brielle Police Department, officers responded to 606 Rankin Road around 8:51 a.m. for a report of a person who had been stabbed.
Upon arrival, officers located Joseph Kerrigan, 62, of Brielle, suffering from a stab wound to his abdomen. The location was secured, and officers took Kendra Angell, 21, of Glen Gardner, into custody without further incident, police said.
Brielle EMS and Advanced Life Support personnel responded and provided medical treatment before transporting Kerrigan to Jersey Shore University Medical Center, where he received emergency treatment. Police said he is currently reported to be in stable condition.
Angell was transported to Brielle Police Headquarters for processing and was later taken to a medical facility for treatment.
She has been charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon causing serious bodily injury, aggravated assault with extreme indifference to the value of human life, possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose, and endangering another person.
Angell remains in custody pending a detention hearing before a judge.
The investigation remains active and is being handled by Brielle Police. Authorities said additional information may be released as the investigation permits.
The department also praised responding officers and thanked Brielle EMS and medical personnel for their prompt response and assistance.
