The National Weather Service has issued a Severe Thunderstorm Watch for all 21 New Jersey counties through midnight. Residents should prepare for damaging wind gusts, large hail, and isolated tornadoes as storms move across the state this afternoon and evening.

The National Weather Service has issued a Severe Thunderstorm Watch for all 21 counties in New Jersey, effective through 12:00 AM tonight.
Scattered to numerous thunderstorms are expected to develop and move across the state this afternoon and evening. The National Weather Service says storms could produce damaging wind gusts, large hail, frequent lightning, heavy rain and isolated tornadoes.
â ď¸ WHAT YOU SHOULD DO NOW: ⢠Keep your phone nearby and make sure emergency alerts are enabled. ⢠Monitor radar and weather updates throughout the evening. ⢠Have a safe place identified in case a warning is issued. ⢠Secure loose outdoor objects. ⢠Never drive through flooded roadways. ⢠If a Severe Thunderstorm or Tornado Warning is issued for your location, take immediate action.

A watch means conditions are favorable for severe thunderstorms to develop. It does not mean severe weather is occurring everywhere at this time.
