Three men face federal charges for allegedly kidnapping and assaulting a man in a vehicle traveling from Manhattan to New Jersey. Prosecutors say the suspects robbed the victim and left him with severe injuries in West Orange before fleeing the scene.
WEST ORANGE, NJ — Three men are facing federal kidnapping charges after prosecutors say a man was lured into a vehicle outside a Midtown Manhattan club, robbed and violently assaulted while being driven through the Lincoln Tunnel, then abandoned in West Orange.
Federal prosecutors announced charges against Kenny Fetiere, 26, of West Orange, Kibret Meles, 28, of Livingston, and Dani Amanuel, 28, of New York City. Fetiere and Meles were arrested, while Amanuel remains at large.
According to prosecutors, the incident began outside a Midtown Manhattan club when the suspects allegedly offered the victim a ride to his hotel. Once inside the vehicle, authorities say the victim was restrained and driven through the Lincoln Tunnel into New Jersey.
💰 Prosecutors allege the suspects demanded the victim's watch and iPhone before assaulting him and attacking him with a sharp object.
The victim suffered multiple facial fractures, a cut to his finger that required stitches and significant bruising, according to authorities. He was hospitalized for three days following the alleged attack.
📍 Prosecutors say the suspects eventually drove to West Orange, where the injured victim was allegedly abandoned.
⚖️ FEDERAL CHARGES
All three defendants have been charged with conspiracy to commit kidnapping and kidnapping. The charges are allegations, and all defendants are presumed innocent unless proven guilty in court.
🚨 Dani Amanuel remains at large, according to federal prosecutors.
