Fairfield police are searching for two suspects who tried to steal an automated teller machine from the Fairfield Executive Inn on Thursday night. The individuals fled the scene before officers arrived, leaving behind a hand truck and damaged wiring.
The Fairfield Police Department is investigating an attempted theft of an automated teller machine (ATM) reported at the Fairfield Executive Inn on Thursday, September 17, 2026.
Police said the incident was reported at approximately 9:06 p.m. after witnesses observed two individuals near the hotel's ATM. According to investigators, both suspects were described as wearing green hooded jackets, black surgical-style masks, dark pants and ball caps.
Authorities said the individuals were also seen with a hand truck, prompting hotel staff to contact police because of the suspicious activity.
The suspects reportedly left the property before officers arrived. When police reached the scene, officers discovered that wiring connected to the ATM had been removed, according to the department.
The investigation remains active as detectives work to identify the individuals involved.
