🚨 ARMED HOME INVASION LEADS TO MULTI-AGENCY POLICE RESPONSE IN PINE HILL
Police arrested a 24-year-old Oaklyn man following two attempted burglaries at the Chalet Gardens Apartments on Tuesday. After an armed standoff involving multiple agencies, the suspect was taken into custody and charged with home invasion and several weapons offenses.
PINE HILL, NJ — A 24-year-old Oaklyn man is facing multiple charges following a series of burglaries at the Chalet Gardens Apartments in Pine Hill that prompted a major multi-agency police response early Tuesday morning, August 18.
At approximately 1:30 a.m., Pine Hill Police responded to the apartment complex for a reported burglary in progress. Investigators determined the suspect entered an apartment through a kitchen window. The residents confronted the suspect, who fled before officers arrived. 🚔
While officers were investigating, police received a second report of a burglary in progress at another apartment within Chalet Gardens.
When officers arrived, they determined the residents and an armed suspect with a knife were still inside. Officers helped the residents safely escape through a window while the suspect refused commands and barricaded himself inside the apartment. 🔪🚨
A coordinated response involving the Lower Camden County Special Response Team, Camden County Prosecutor’s Office, Camden County Sheriff’s Department, Camden County Office of Emergency Management, Lindenwold Police, Gloucester Township Police and Clementon Police ultimately resulted in the suspect being taken into custody.

Vimere Kearney, 24, of Oaklyn, NJ
Kearney was charged with:
1st Degree Home Invasion 2nd Degree Burglary 3rd Degree Burglary — 2 counts 3rd Degree Theft Disorderly Persons Theft 3rd Degree Possession of a Weapon for an Unlawful Purpose 4th Degree Unlawful Possession of a Weapon 4th Degree Resisting Arrest 4th Degree Obstruction
Kearney was ultimately remanded to the Camden County Correctional Facility.

Pine Hill Police say they are continuing to investigate numerous burglaries, specifically at the Chalet Gardens Apartments.
