🚁 Amazon Drone Deliveries Planned for Mantua Area Beginning in October 2026

MANTUA TOWNSHIP, NJ — August 22, 2026 — Amazon is preparing to launch a new drone delivery operation serving Mantua Township and the surrounding area, with operations potentially beginning as early as October, according to preliminary information shared with local officials.
Mantua Police Chief William Murphy said he, OEM Coordinator Daniel Hauss, local OEM offices, and police chiefs from surrounding communities recently participated in a Zoom meeting with Amazon representatives to discuss the company’s proposed drone delivery operation.
According to information provided during the meeting, Amazon anticipates beginning drone delivery operations in mid-October 2026.
🚁 Proposed Operation Details:
• The drone launch facility is expected to be located at 240 Mantua Grove Road in West Deptford Township. • The proposed delivery area would encompass nearly all of Mantua Township and the Borough of Wenonah. • Drone operations are expected to run from 15 minutes before sunrise until 15 minutes after sunset. • The drones are authorized to operate at altitudes below 400 feet.
Local officials are continuing to review information regarding the proposed operation. Chief Murphy said additional details and any follow-up information brought to officials’ attention will be provided as it becomes available.
The planned service would introduce drone-based package delivery to the Mantua area, potentially changing the way some residents receive Amazon orders.
