⚖️ 31 WOMEN FILE LAWSUIT AGAINST FORMER LAWRENCEVILLE OB-GYN OVER ALLEGED SEXUAL ABUSE ⚖️
Thirty-one women filed a lawsuit against former physician Bruce R. Pierce and his medical group, alleging decades of sexual abuse and misconduct during examinations. The complaint follows the permanent revocation of Pierce’s medical license by state officials in late 2024.
📍 LAWRENCEVILLE, NJ — A group of 31 women has filed a lawsuit against a former Lawrenceville-area OB-GYN, alleging years of sexual abuse and misconduct during medical examinations.
The complaint was filed July 29 in Mercer County Superior Court and names former physician Dr. Bruce R. Pierce and Delaware Valley OBGYN and Infertility Group as defendants.
According to the lawsuit, the alleged incidents occurred between approximately 2000 and 2024, primarily at the practice's Lawrenceville location on Princess Road, as well as offices in Princeton and East Windsor.
⚠️ The plaintiffs, who are identified by their initials in the complaint, allege that Pierce engaged in inappropriate touching, performed allegedly unnecessary and painful procedures, and made sexually inappropriate comments during what were represented as routine medical examinations.
The lawsuit further alleges that many of the examinations occurred without a chaperone present and that Pierce took advantage of patients while they were vulnerable and receiving private medical care.
🏥 The complaint also accuses Delaware Valley OBGYN and Infertility Group of failing to properly screen, train and supervise Pierce despite alleged warning signs.
Pierce's medical license was suspended by the New Jersey State Board of Medical Examiners in November 2024 following allegations involving two patients.
The board subsequently permanently revoked his medical license in December 2024, finding him in violation of multiple state statutes concerning professional misconduct, negligence and sexual misconduct.
⚖️ The lawsuit contains 13 counts against Pierce and Delaware Valley, including allegations of corporate negligence, medical malpractice, assault and battery, invasion of privacy, negligent hiring and retention, intentional infliction of emotional distress and violations of the New Jersey Law Against Discrimination.
The plaintiffs are seeking compensatory and punitive damages and have requested a jury trial.
