🕯️ 29-Year-Old Man Killed in Late-Night Trenton Shooting
Authorities are investigating a fatal shooting that killed a 29-year-old man late Sunday night in Trenton. Police found the victim with a gunshot wound to the chest near Whittaker Avenue, but no arrests have been made in the active case.
TRENTON, NJ — August 24, 2026 — Authorities are investigating a fatal shooting that claimed the life of a 29-year-old man late Sunday night in Trenton.
According to the Mercer County Prosecutor’s Office and Trenton Police Department, officers responded around 11:38 p.m. on August 23 to the 600 block of Whittaker Avenue following a report of a man suffering from a gunshot wound to the chest.
Officers found the victim unresponsive and immediately began CPR. He was transported to Capital Health Regional Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead.
Authorities said the shooting scene was located in the area of Beatty and Fulton streets, where detectives investigated evidence at the scene, including a bicycle found on the sidewalk near shattered glass.
The victim's identity has not yet been released pending notification of his family.
