A 21-year-old Maryland man died early Sunday morning after his car struck a parked tractor-trailer on Interstate 78 in Union Township. New Jersey State Police say the driver lost control and veered off the highway, and the crash remains under investigation.
UNION TOWNSHIP, NJ — A 21-year-old Maryland man was killed early Sunday morning after the Audi he was driving crashed into a parked tractor-trailer along Interstate 78 in Hunterdon County, according to New Jersey State Police.
The crash happened at approximately 3:34 a.m. Sunday, September 27, on westbound I-78 near milepost 15.4 in Union Township.
Investigators said the Audi was traveling westbound when the driver lost control, left the right side of the highway and struck the rear corner of a parked tractor-trailer.
The driver, identified by police as 21-year-old Jourdain Nicholson of Riverdale, Maryland, suffered fatal injuries in the collision.
The circumstances surrounding the crash remain under investigation. Authorities have not released additional information at this time.
