🚔 18 PEOPLE ARRESTED AFTER ALLEGEDLY STEALING ARTIFICIAL TURF IN FAIR LAWN
Fair Lawn police arrested 18 people ranging in age from 18 to 43 on Tuesday night. The group was charged with theft of movable property after officers allegedly caught them removing artificial turf from a local business.
FAIR LAWN, NJ — Eighteen people were arrested Tuesday night after police said they were caught allegedly removing artificial turf from the outside of a building.
According to the Fair Lawn Police Department, officers responded to a business in the area of Hopper Avenue and River Road shortly after 10 p.m.
When officers arrived, they reportedly found 18 individuals allegedly in the process of removing artificial turf from the exterior of the building.
Police said all 18 individuals were taken into custody and charged with theft of movable property.
Those arrested reportedly range in age from 18 to 43 years old. Authorities have not identified the business involved, and the names of those arrested have not been released.
Police said the investigation remains ongoing.
⚖️ All individuals charged are presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law.
