🚨🔫 16-YEAR-OLD SHOT IN ARM DURING ALTERCATION AT PISCATAWAY PARK 🔫🚨

📍 PISCATAWAY, NJ — Piscataway police are investigating a shooting at Irishtown Park that left a 16-year-old Middlesex Borough boy injured Sunday evening.

Police said officers were notified at approximately 7:44 p.m. on September 6 of a reported shooting at Irishtown Park, 101 Mountain Avenue.

Before officers arrived, the victim had reportedly left the park and was later located in Middlesex Borough. Police identified him as a 16-year-old male resident of Middlesex Borough who suffered a gunshot wound to his arm.

🚑 The teenager was transported to a local hospital, where he was treated for his injuries and later released.

According to the preliminary investigation, the victim was at the park with family and friends when they were approached by two male suspects. A physical altercation reportedly followed involving the victim, his brother and the two suspects.

During the altercation, police said one of the suspects displayed a firearm and fired a shot, striking the teenager in the arm.

🔎 Detectives with the Piscataway Police Department responded to the park and collected evidence as the investigation continues.

Police said the shooting appears to be an isolated incident and there is currently no indication of an ongoing threat to the public.
